mythopian memories

A slightly warped, analog black and white photograph showing a digital landscape with a large tree and a floating island.

Mythopia was created by Starheart in 2003. The city served as a showcase for the possibilities of digital 3D modeling at the time. Its magical natural landscapes invited the Citizens of Activeworlds to immerse themselves in its forests, castles, and fantastical creations, providing a virtual safe space. Twenty years later, Avatar Moelle explores this now virtual Lost Space and follows in the footsteps of Starheart.

Moelle's experiences in Mythopia are captured analogously on expired Agfa Brovira photo paper. This baryta paper was considered high-quality and was manufactured in Germany. It differs from modern photo paper in that it warps during the drying process if not sufficiently washed.

Mythopia was deleted on May 31 and is no longer accessible.
